Primary Individual, 6th and 7th June, 2009

Page 1 Page 2 Tournament page Games

6th June, 13:30.

This is what we are all waiting for, it is the start of the activities. We were split into three teams and for a warm-up we raced against each other. We had drain pipes and had to ferry a ball over to the other side by transferring it from your pipe to the person next to you. You then ran round so you were at the end of the chain. sound simple??

After this, it was off to the climbing wall and beach for the spider web, Lava river challenge and most liked of all, climbing wall:-)

And after all this, tug of war!!! We even managed to beat the adults (Well it was 29 v 7 and we dragged Andy 10 feet through the sand!!!)

6th June, LUNCHTIME

Woo hoo, lunch is ready :-). For lunch we feasted on Vegetable soup and Baked Potatoes with a lot of choice for fillings. There was also a salad bar to keep even the most hungry person fed :-)

Judging by the empty plates, it was well received!

6th June, 11:00

Round 2 is upon us already, on the "Live Board" we have the game between Ciaran Jenkins and Max Allison. By Max's admission after,. he had no idea how he managed to escape the pressure put on him by Ciaran!

We have been here for over an hour, playing chess on the large patio set next to where we are sleeping. Phil and I met up with Lisa and Kai, it was brilliant fun. Round 1 is just about to start, only problem we have is we have limited internet connection. I had brought my DGT board with me so we could broadcast a game. Ah well, will do it for the next tourney :-)

Round 1 saw Piers Armitage take on Ben He on the "Live board".

There were some very interesting games, the last to finish was Jeremy Scott and Wenbo Chen, a game that could have gone either way. Unfortunately Jeremy blundered and was forced to resign.

Oh six thirty and what does the o stand for? Oh my God it's early! Just enough time to write out a "Happy Anniversary" card for Karen and Phil is here.

5th June 2009, 23:42!

I can't sleep, it is the Primary Individual tomorrow and I am so excited. What must it be like for the kids? This is the first time that we have organized it and I really hope it all goes well.. Jacqui has done an incredible amount of work to make this happen and deserves all the plaudits.

I'll have my laptop and camera (as long as the battery holds) so intend to be blogging away quite happily this weekend. I hope everyone enjoys it and we get the weather.
